International Marketing

For some strange reason, whenever I see product names in other countries I always laugh because they sound so silly. A good example of this is from a site called Engrish.com which covers a variety of topics. However this page caught my eye today. Yes, I'll admit that Water Salad doesn't exactly sound all that tasty to me but some of the names just made me laugh: Coolpis, Deepresso and my favorite Diet Water (because regular water is so fattening?).

But as I was having a nice laugh at the expense of Japanese marketing/advertising firms I realized that we have some products in the United States that are pretty silly too. Ho-Ho's for example. Chocodiles, Ding Dongs, Sugar Smacks, etc. So from now on I'll do my best NOT to make fun of product names from other countries..........ok, probably not.
